Property Rights for Women: A Case for Joint Titles in Agricultural Land and Urban Housing

Taking note of the impracticability in the present circumstances of obtaining independent titles to agricultural land or urban housing for women, this article advocates promotion of the concept of joint husband-wife titles to such property as a first step. Such titles would be in addition to women’s right to inherit a share of parental property.
