MHT is in the august company of Urban Change Makers! It is one of the finalists for the prestigious WRI Ross Prize for Cities 2020-2021. WRI Ross Center Prize for Cities, a premier global award celebrates and spotlights transformative urban change. The Municipality of Rosario from Argentina is the winner for its work on sustainable food production for a resilient Rosario.

MHT’s project in 100 slums in South Asia, “Women’s action towards climate resilience for the urban poor”, which made women climate-leaders and not climate-victims, has been recognized as an initiative for creating inclusive cities for a changing climate. MHT shares the finalist space with DistritoTec, Innovating district transformations for more compact, livable cities, MONTERREY, MEXICO; Kibera Public Space Project Co-creating infrastructure for resilient, thriving neighbourhoods, NAIROBI, KENYA; London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone, Ensuring clean air is a right, not a privilege, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM.

The WRI Ross Centre Prize for Cities seeks to inspire urban change-makers across the globe by elevating trailblazing initiatives and telling impactful stories of sustainable urban transformation. Over 260 applicants from 160 cities and 54 countries submitted projects addressing the theme of ‘inclusive cities for a changing climate.’ WRI’s team of expert evaluators narrowed the list to five projects that exhibited what is possible when equity is put at the center of climate response. An independent Prize Jury selected the grand prize winner and the four finalists.

MHT extends hearty congratulations to the Municipality of Rosario from Argentina and the co-finalists for their work. Up, up and away!
