Accelerating Access to Wash and Healthy Spaces to Slum Communities in Urban India: Renewed Urgency Post-covid-19

All slum dwellers face stress due to lack of WaSH services and access to healthy spaces but there is a definite gender skew. Women and girls often bear the brunt in complex ways, distinct from the challenges faced by men in the slum settlements. Womenfolk are typically responsible for collecting water for drinking and other domestic uses which decreases time for income generating work or education. It offers broad approaches to enable transformative change in WaSH and healthy space provision for vulnerable urban slum communities, while building healthier and more resilient cities
