Sato Toilet System

Garudiya no Tekro, Ahmedabad, like many other informal settlements is not connected to the city’s infrastructure and thus, has no water or sewerage connections. This makes it difficult for the residents to build traditional toilet systems. As a result, MHT experimented with the SATO Toilet System prototype, a technology that claims to require only 1⁄2 a litre of water for every flush. The feasibility of this prototype was tested in the home of Rekhaben Dantani, a resident of Garudiya no Tekro.
